Whether for a newcomer or a seasoned veteran, the Mary R. Koch School of Visual Arts at the Wichita Center for the Arts is the ideal environment for the pursuit of education in all things artistic, including drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, enameling, jewelry-making, metalsmithing, and photography. Now in its ninth decade, our school has employed some of the region's finest artists as instructors, including Betty Dickerson, Bruce Moore, Lloyd Foltz, C. A. Seyward, and C. A. Hotvedt. Past students have included internationally-known artists such as David Salle and Tom Otterness.

Classes at the Center are open to all, and our courses run in three cycles: spring, summer, and fall. While we always include classes for children, special Summer and Winter Camps are offered during school vacations. The Center's Creative Child Center Preschool is the area's only arts-based preschool. We also host two- and three-day workshops for adults in a wide range of topics, as well as slide shows and lectures from visiting artists. We even offer courses in such off-the-beaten-track subjects as bead-making and ballroom dance. So whatever your interests, you're likely to find a class to suit them here at the Center.
